Up to Now

Neko arrived on December 19, 2011 (one day after I returned from a vacation in Mexico)!  The poor baby missed her original flight from EWR (of course, her human missed the flight) so she had an extra-long travel day.  Seeing her for the first time broke my heart - she was huddled in the back of her kennel, shaking and scared.  I thought she'd never come out, thought for sure she was ruined before I'd even had a chance to make mistakes...15 minutes later:

She's been a happy, sweet, inquisitive little lady ever since!  Turns out this is somewhat typical (although an extreme example, to be sure) of Neko - something will scare her, or she'll be unsure and she'll check it out, run back to me for support, and then get over it.  These are some of the best qualities of her personality and the part of her that will likely make a great service- and companion- animal!

I'm more and more impressed with her intelligence and kind heart every day.
